WHO WE ARE
Founder and Principal
Neil Soskin is the founder of the commercial real estate advisory firm that carries his name. Neil began his commercial real estate career after obtaining his CPA and completing an MBA from UC Berkeley. After three years developing hotels and resorts, Neil was recruited to the retail sector joining The Taubman Company, an international leader in the shopping center business. During his six years with the company, he developed a deep understanding of the retail real estate business, and leasing in particular. Neil then built his first independent advisory and brokerage firm, representing both tenants and landlords. He later merged with the nationally recognized leasing firm of Lord Associates. Five years later, Neil was recruited to Score Education Centers, a start-up company providing educational enrichment to pre-teens and teens. Neil created a development and support team of 15 and led growth from 18 locations to 150, in 15 different metropolitan areas. Neil joined Weingarten Realty, one of the largest open-air shopping center operators in the United States. Over his 10 years at Weingarten, Neil grew his role to a regional COO, leading 50 team members in 8 states with bottom-line accountability for a portfolio of 100+ properties totaling more than 11 million square feet and $200 million of rental income. Looking for something more creative, Neil moved on to Primestor Development, a niche boutique developer in Los Angeles. Primestor is focused on creating best in class retail developments in the underserved urban core. Combining his deep experience and disciplined approach, Neil joined the firm to lead the leasing, property management and asset management groups. There he enjoyed and took pride in the positive impact Primestor has on the communities it touches.
From early 2018, Neil has been utilizing his unique combination of well-honed skills and deep experience to be of service to many clients. He has a passion for all aspects of commercial real estate, as well as relationships that make business and life fun and productive. In addition to taking on property challenges, Neil loves to mentor and help lead teams, with an absolute commitment to servant leadership.
Neil loves to spend time with his children and is very proud of the adults they have grown up to be. He and his partner Gayle love exploring neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, with a special focus on finding amazing hole in the wall restaurants. Early morning workouts, cycling and hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains are important priorities for Neil. Giving back and being of service are core values to Neil. He is proud to be a Big Brother to a wonderful seven-year-old boy. Neil has retained an affinity for his adopted home town of San Francisco, and particularly enjoys a nice sunny day watching the Giants.
